Earth-moving machines are working full tilt preparing the site for the Munro Sports Park in Pokeno.

They’ll be continuing throughout the summer levelling the area out to provide the platform for the sports fields, car parking and buildings to be constructed.

The black-lined mini-stopbanks you can see in the video are there to prevent dirty water coming from the earthworks site from going into the stream.

Retaining and improving the natural ecosystems surrounding the sports park site is a key aspect of the project.
